As foreign presence and fighting between parties intensifies in Iraq and Syria, reporting in a region where multiple journalists have already been captured and killed becomes increasingly risky. At the same time, ISIS continues its own media campaign, attracting more and more disenfranchised young men and women to its cause. How can journalists navigate this new terrain where they risk simultaneously becoming targets and instruments of insurgent group propaganda?
